CannaVenture® CO – August Hike 2022 – Recap
Hello, Crew Members!
Thank you to everyone who came our for our August CannaVenture with Chef Roilty!
For the first time this year, we were treated to beautiful weather for this month’s hike, including a consistent light breeze and temps in the high-70’s!
It was a great group of hikers, including a few first timers!
At 11AM Sunday morning, the crew hit the Carbon and Fisherman’s Trails at Bear Creek Lake Park near Morrison. Chef Roilty graciously provided gift bags to all crew members in attendance that included items from his Roilty Shop as well as from some of his partner sponsors.
The only downside to the day was that we weren’t able to get in the water! A high concentration of toxic algae meant no swimming, in spite of some great locations to do so when the water clears up. Nonetheless, we enjoyed the sanctuary for a few smoke seshes. (All roaches/ashes were self-contained in small, fireproof ashtray pouches carried by attendees).
The hike made its way through the trees alongside the lake and nearby creek that gives the park its namesake. The first third of the trail was shaded nicely, but gave way to wide open skies, and some direct sunlight that required a few smoke breaks whenever shade was found.
Our next event will be Discs-n-Dabs® at Twisted Cedars DGC in Trinidad, CO and we will announce more hikes after that!
