Yesterday, a crew of active cannabis consumers hit Walker Ranch for an afternoon of conversation, community, and cannabis, all while enjoying the great outdoors. Our August hike was sponsored by Nectar CBD, whose contribution to our efforts makes hikes like these possible.
Attendees began rolling in shortly before 3PM, with out last attendee arriving just after 3:20, giving us ample time to go over the ground rules, introduce the sponsor and discuss their products, and let people prepare their minds.
The trail is almost entirely downhill for the first half as you descend towards the South Boulder Creek in the middle of the canyon. We started at the Ethel Harrold trailhead, which gives you a trail or service road option; we opted for the former.
While we were still making our way to the main water attraction, 4:20PM rang and the group sat down for a collective safety meeting.
At the midpoint of the hike, the crew got to take a break and put their feet in the water, though it was still pretty cold. We enjoyed the rocky shore near the creek, and put some smoke in the air before making our way back.
Rather than take the less-than-scenic service road, we opted to do an out-and-back, headed back up the mountain we’d come down. The first quarter mile of this return effort was the steepest and most challenging part of the hike.
Everyone in the crew made it the entire way, and we were happy to welcome plenty of new faces as well.
Thank you to everyone who made the trek to Eldorado Springs and hiked through to the waterfall rapids with a smile. I was thrilled with our August Hike and look forward to seeing you all again soon!
