Yesterday, a crew of active cannabis consumers hit the Palmer Divide Ranch Trail in Larkspur, Colorado to kick off the sixth season of CannaVenture® and what a special outing it was!
Our first attendee to arrive received a clone of Poon Tang Pie in addition to the 2021 swag we had for hikers including lanyards, stickers, and portable ashtrays (#leavenotrace).
The hike kicked off just before 2:30PM as we waited for a few crew members to trickle in. Announcements regarding consumption risks and laws, leave no trace, and reminders to let staff know if you wanted to take a break or have a mini sesh along the way.
The only downside to the day was the snowmelt from previous days’ snow which left the trail fairly muddy, but it couldn’t keep our crew’s spirits down!
The trail is a short jaunt to a loop that goes around Lincoln Mountain Open Space. This trail is a relatively easy hike, topping out at just over 4 miles and just over 200 feet of elevation change.
We all took a large safety meeting at a rest area where makeshift teepees and structures had been setup, as well as a tire swing! This was the perfect opportunity for a group photo.
After the shot, we continued along, gradually climbing up to views of the surrounding plains and Pike’s Peak, slightly obscured by cloud covers.
Almost everyone in the crew made it the entire way, and we were happy to welcome plenty of new faces as well.
Thank you to everyone who made the trek to Larkspur and hiked through the mud with a smile. I was thrilled with our season opener and look forward to seeing you all again in May!
Our next hike will take place on May 15th. Check out the details on the plan page for more information. We hope you can make it.
Until then, happy CannaVenturing!
