As always, the day started off great! The sun was shining bright, and the parking lot was filling up very quickly. One thing we did notice first off is that there was a huge overflow parking area. In the past we’ve had issues with smaller parking areas and guest having to squeeze in. That wasn’t the case this time.
The Trail we explored (Fiery Gizzard Trail), was very interesting. There were huge trees that seemed to lean in various directions for some reason. We still haven’t been able to figure that out. Nevertheless a few of the guests, including myself, did a little mushroom hunting. The forest area we were exploring had perfect conditions for mushroom picking.
The trail leads down to an amazing opening to the stream. The CannaVenture crew decided to stop here for a much needed smoke break. We actually built a few rock stacks, in and alongside the river stream. Zen would be the best way to describe the mellow place. Continuing on, the trail actually became very narrow in some parts. We actually had to focus on our foot placement to get through this part. The trails had amazing rock faces and very steep hillsides, we didn’t want to go fumbling down any of those. Overall, everyone had a blast, and we can’t wait to get back to this location.
The length of this trail is only 2 miles, but the crew and I took our time and actually enjoyed every bit of the park. The hike actually lasted about two hours or more.
Fiery Gizzard Trail is definitely a location to remember. I would recommend this place to any enthusiast wanting to get out just to clear their mind. It is truly a relaxing place.
